OVERVIEW OF THE COURSE
The aim of the HJA-PTTP course is to develop students to fulfil their own individual potential, to train them at the highest level for a professional career in the entertainment industry and for them to achieve ISTD status as a qualified teacher for those wishing to teach either now or in the future.
In our busy lives it is not always possible to accommodate attending a full time
Students will be taught all aspects of theatre arts - Ballet, Tap and Modern, together with Commercial Jazz, Singing, Drama and Musical Theatre. Students will work through all ISTD units for their ISTD FDI (Foundation in Dance Instruction) in which they will study both Modern and Tap - this being the first teaching qualification. Once students have completed their FDI qualification, they will move on to study for the ISTD CDE (Certificate in Dance Education) which completes their training in the discipline that they have studied i.e. Modern or Tap or both and they will then be fully qualified to teach that subject. On completion of both the FDI and CDE Exams, students will be fully qualified Dance Teachers enabling them to train and enter pupils for exams in their given subject.
Students on this course will be taught by highly qualified professionals in every discipline.
DANCE
Ballet, Tap, Modern – students will work to cover all units for the ISTD FDI in both Modern and Tap, together with both ISTD and RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Ballet to Advanced Level. Students will work on Advanced Grades to develop technique, strength and performance.
DRAMA
Drama studies will include solo performances whilst working towards Advanced Levels within the LAMDA syllabi. Presenting, Camera Acting, Technique and Script
SINGING
Students will study singing working towards achieving a good, solid technique through the RAM levels (
MUSICAL THEATRE
Musical Theatre workshops will be held as an integral part of the course giving extensive experience to develop all aspects of performing bringing together Singing, Drama and Dance.
EXAMS
All students will be entered for exams when ready. The course objectives are for students to achieve FDI and CDE teaching qualifications in Modern and Tap, together with Advanced Qualifications in Ballet, Singing and Drama.
PERFORMING
Regular opportunities will be available for students to perform in Academy Shows. There will also be an opportunity for students to become part of the FGB (Festivals of Great Britain Group) to enable them to take part in many varied performances at well known venues and West End Theatres.
MASTER CLASSES
Master Classes will be available to all students for them to experience audition technique and to work with a wide variety of outside industry professionals.
PROFESSIONAL AGENCY
All students will be represented by the HJA Theatrical Agency and they will be sent to auditions for suitable engagements whenever the occasion arises. Enrolment to the Agency is free for all registered students. (Our normal Agency rules apply).
