Alan began his training at the age of three at The Booth Academy of Dancing. He won a scholarship for full time theatre training at the age of nine to attend The Royal Ballet Junior School and then The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts Senior School and College. He is qualified in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Singing and Drama (ISTD, RAD, RAM, LAMDA) and has an MA in Theatre Arts. Alan also holds a teaching qualification in American Tap ATA together with Anatomy and Physiology exam qualifications.
As well as his dance and theatre related qualifications Alan is also qualifed in make-up and design and has a City & Guilds qualification and Advanced Teaching Qualifications in Hair and Beauty.
He has worked professionally in the industry from a very young age appearing in West End Musicals such as 'Bugsy Malone' and 'Oliver', T.V. shows 'Grange Hill' and 'The Hot Shoe Show ' starring Wayne Sleep and many T.V. Commercials and Fashion Shoots. Alans career also took him into the world of Catwalk Modelling working with celebrities such as Yasmin Le Bon and Linda Evangelista walking in Runway shows for top names like Gucci, Armani, Yves Saint Lauren, appearing in advertising campaigns and fashion promotions. He performed as a Dancer and Singer with Disney USA Ltd and has recorded back up vocals with stars such as Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.
As well as a busy schedule as Principal of HJA Alan works internationally developing Theatre Arts and working with production companies producing and choreographing. He is dedicated to his Music Company and more recently to his professional Dance company, Dance Alive.
Alans career has been in full flow for three decades and there is no sign of it slowing down. He is totally dedicated to his craft and is passionate about the entertainment industry - with new projects on the horizion and his drive to open HJA USA late 2008 (the first Performing Arts School in Florida), he is constantly on the go.
